In August 2011, Partridge designed and built a medieval-style “trebuchet” in partnership with Fitzy and Wippa, radio hosts at NovaFM. The catapult threw a 766kg car a whopping 76.94m to break the world record for the strongest catapult ever built! The brief was to design and build a trebuchet (catapult) which would throw a car as far as possible. Partridge recognised the opportunity to break, and maintain the Guinness World Record. Within six weeks, full design, fabrication, installation and operation was realised and the record broken.
