Partridge provided structural engineering and project management services for remedial works on the eastern façade of a of a building in a heritage area. The team conducted detailed inspections of the lintels and prepared a scope of works to remove spalling elements and carry out façade repairs, including repainting. Appointed as project manager, our team oversaw all inspections, designs, and coordination of the remedial works. Collaboration with a heritage architect was required to obtain approval for new louvres, reflecting the property’s heritage status. Unexpected conditions emerged once scaffolding was installed, revealing more lintels in poor condition than initially identified during rope inspections. Additional challenges included corroded metal service pipes concealed behind render. These were removed, bricked up, and rendered over to provide a durable finish and prevent future cracking.
