Partridge collaborated with Tribe Studio and Laycock Construction on the restoration and extension of a heritage-listed Arts and Crafts home in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. Built circa 1915, the residence was sensitively adapted for contemporary living, earning recognition in the 2024 National Architecture Awards (NSW Chapter) for both Heritage and Residential Architecture. Our structural work included shoring and underpinning for a new basement garage, a rainwater tank, and a feature off-form concrete arch beam. We also engineered a new pool, planters, and bespoke elements such as a concrete kitchen island and exposed timber framing—requiring close coordination with the architect to align structure and design. At the upper levels, Partridge delivered new steel and timber framing and integrated the roof structure to support the expanded building envelope. Through staged design and detailed documentation, we enabled a thoughtful integration of new structure within the home’s original heritage fabric.
