PROJECT Exmouth Pyramid

DESIGNER | ARTIST The Round Table

LOCATION Exmouth, WA

We had the privilege of working on McLeod Street Beach in Exmouth, in collaboration with The Round Table, an innovative company specializing in immersive events. Our team was tasked with calculating the wind forces on the site and using this information to determine the requirements for the timber framing inside a pyramid structure that was to be built on the beach. The Round Table’s role was to create an unforgettable experience for guests by playing the iconic Pink Floyd album, “Dark Side of the Moon” at a specific time to align with the exact moment of the solar eclipse. Our team also had the important responsibility of calculating the necessary ballast to hold down the structure and prevent it from overturning or sliding along the beach. To maintain the aesthetics of the structure, the ballast was hidden internally within the framing of the pyramid.
