The artists, working with Tilt Industrial Design, developed this installation comprising suspended LED neon tubes arranged in an interwoven formation, supported by a concealed aluminium and steel framework. Partridge’s role focused on developing a structural system that could adapt to the existing infrastructure while maintaining the clarity and lightness of the artistic concept. Although visually minimal, the installation required carefully resolved load paths, connection detailing and stiffness to ensure the lighting elements remained aligned and durable in service. By integrating the structure within the artwork itself, the engineering allows the installation to appear simple and unobtrusive while performing reliably within a highly trafficked public setting.
