At the historic Matchworks precinct in Cremorne, Partridge provides structural engineering for the adaptive reuse of the former Bryant and May industrial complex. Collaborating with Denton Corker Marshall, SJB Interiors, and Alfasi Property, the engineering team assessed the capacity of original red-brick masonry and structural framing to accommodate contemporary loads within this heritage-listed site. Adapting the 1909 Edwardian red-brick factory requires a precise understanding of historic materials. Specific work includes targeted structural strengthening, modifications for new lifts and stairs, building extensions, and double-height internal volumes. The scope also covers new floor elements and plant decks, alongside seismic capacity advice and strengthening for the forty-metre brick chimney.
