Working alongside Fiona Robbe and her team, we at Partridge had the privilege of playing a key role in the rejuvenation of King George Park Playground. Our structural and hydraulic expertise—covering civil, stormwater, and hydraulic services—helped shape a space that is not only safe and accessible but also sustainable for future generations.

The process kicked off with a site walkover, where we took stock of existing utilities and assessed how the proposed playground equipment and landscaping elements would integrate with the space. This early stage was critical—not just for feasibility but for finding ways to make the most of the existing landscape. By addressing key factors like accessibility, safety, drainage, sun exposure, and earth retention, we ensured that the design was both practical and responsive to the community’s needs.

Community engagement played a big role in shaping the outcome. Feedback gathered through consultations helped refine the design, ensuring it met the expectations of families who would use the space daily. As the design developed, we worked closely with clients and stakeholders, translating concepts into detailed construction documentation that would guide the build.

During construction, our involvement didn’t stop at documentation. We worked closely with the contractors to ensure the design was executed as planned, answering RFIs (Requests for Information) and making necessary adjustments to accommodate site conditions and material availability. Throughout the process, we remained focused on meeting safety standards, environmental guidelines, and, most importantly, the vision for the park.

The result is a vibrant and inclusive playground, thoughtfully designed for future generations of families to enjoy.
