Multi-Residential

At Riserva Cammeray, Partridge provided structural engineering services for a finely detailed residential building designed by DKO Architecture. The structure comprises reinforced concrete slabs and walls with slender floor plates and cantilevered balconies, supporting open plan living and large glazed openings without extensive transfer structures. Careful modelling of load paths and close co-ordination maintained ceiling heights and minimised structural depth. Detailed attention was given to balcony deflection, façade interfaces, and long-term movement. Working closely with DKO Architecture and builder Dynamic Projects, Partridge delivered a robust, buildable structural solution.

At North Bondi, the Sol Apartments project showcases refined coastal design supported by thoughtful engineering. Working with HSN Property Group, KPA Architects, and BKH Interiors, Partridge detailed the insitu concrete slabs and precast wall panels, including a cantilevered first-floor awning that required careful load analysis. Integrated lighting within the balcony soffits added another layer of coordination between structure and aesthetics. Below ground, the basement carpark is excavated into sandstone bedrock, requiring solutions for excavation support, surrounding pressures, and drainage. Partridge also reviewed key interface zones to ensure stability, buildability, and long-term performance.

Partridge provided structural engineering for the Moruben Road residences in Mosman, designed with Peter Tout Architect and Turner Hughes Architects and built by David Campbell Building. The steep hillside site required excavation of more than 3,000 tonnes of soil and rock, including a 10-metre-deep lift shaft and tunnel. Partridge adopted temporary batters and vertical rock cuts to avoid shoring piles, simplifying excavation while maintaining safety. Reinforced concrete slabs on load-bearing masonry and Dincel walls supported lightweight steel and timber roofs with 3-metre double cantilevered canopies. A key feature of the project is the central stair, engineered using finite element analysis to minimise structural depth while maintaining the architectural intent. The stair consists of a steel box stringer with cantilevered steel plate treads, each designed to support a glass balustrade that also cantilevers from the plates.

Overlooking the beautiful Main Beach, ‘The Surf’ is Yamba’s first boutique hotel. Partridge designed all the structural elements from the foundations, to the concrete frame, masonry walls, and feature masonry screens on the western façade, the pergola on the roof terrace, awnings, custom glass balustrades, and bespoke aluminium privacy screens. This intimate 12 room hotel offers an impressive rooftop pool and decking with breathtaking views up the coastline. Given the close proximity to the beach, durability was a key factor in ensuring the concrete elements we designed are maintenance free for the life span of the building.
