Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity Australia, a leading not-for-profit housing provider, offers shelter solutions for vulnerable people and low-income families across the country. Through initiatives like their local volunteering program as ‘Brush with Kindness’, Habitat for Humanity mobilises over 10,000 volunteers to build and repair homes each year.

Partnering with organisations like Partridge, Habitat for Humanity refurbishes crisis accommodation and transitional shelters for women and children facing domestic violence and homelessness.

In recognition of International Women’s Day, staff from our Sydney and Melbourne offices volunteered at local crisis accommodation sites. The Sydney team refurbished a staircase and doors at a women’s shelter, enhancing the facility and gaining a deeper understanding of its vital role. The manager’s account of supporting women in crisis left a lasting impact. The Melbourne team focussed on gardening tasks like building a retaining wall, removing weeds, and clearing fallen trees. Despite the hard work, our all or our participants enjoyed the experience, interacting with Habitat for Humanity supervisors Greg and Brad. Our own Marcus even rescued native frogs!

Volunteering with Habitat for Humanity provides an opportunity to make a tangible difference in the community. By contributing to home improvements, we are proud to support mothers and children in building a better future.
